Information on the Aiguille du Midi

The Chamonix Terrace (Piton Nord), above the 3842 restaurant, will be closed to the public from May 25th, 2026 for an estimated period of 4 to 5 weeks to carry out waterproofing work and install new decking.

The other areas, as well as the restaurants and the entire visit at the summit of the Aiguille du Midi, remain open as usual.

My second tour to Aquille du Midi was very fantastic because the weather was clear. (During my first tour the weather was foggy.) So I advise you to have time (more than one day) in Chamonix if you want to find clear views over the Alps. The ride by cable car is also fast and felt nice.

Great once in a lifetime experience. Absolutly recommendable, but one should not only go up, without having in mind, what we effect on our planet; even the impact of climate change, we see in this hight

Great experience, great site. Very weather dependent but we got lucky one a day forecast to be cloudy. Queue time for the skybox (name?) can be long but it is worth it.
